Whitby

 Martin, Claire, Ali, Emma, Kath, John, Mike, Elaine, Marley and Daisy.

17th to 20th October. Ali, Emma and John departed on the Sunday evening. A big house high up, with a view to the abbey. 

Walk to Runswick Bay on the Saturday where we didn't get lunch, and then the bus back. Sunday was a train ride inland, followed by the hilliest flat walk ever. Eventually we got fed up and got the bus back to Whitby. Fish and chips for dinner that night.

Random memory - John turning up without walking boots and having to buy some as we set off on the Saturday.

Lunch in the village, then a shorter walk in the afternoon. Random memory - tasting each other's drinks when we were being advised to maintain social distancing.

Patterdale 2

Martin, Claire, Ali, Emma, John, Kath, Adrian. Mike, Elaine, Marley and Daisy turned up on Saturday morning. 6-9th November 2015 I'm a bit vague on this one to be honest. I've no photos of this trip.  Saturday - walk to the pub at the campsite again. Sunday, a stupidly wet walk from Castlerigg stone circle, which included 15 minutes standing in a field while Ali worked out which way we were supposed to go. Random memory - Rocks being washed down the road by the rain.

Thornton Rust

Kath invited, but was double booked.  9-11th December 2017 Pinehurst Cottage, Thornton Russet The walk where Marley had a fit, not finding stepping stones, finding a weird pub, and not finding dinner on the Sunday (ended up going back to the place we'd had lunch).  Random memory - about a week later, we had a call from someone that had found Daisy's ID disk from the lane opposite the cottage
