Dunkeld

 Inch Cottage, 4th - 6th October.

Martin, Claire, Elaine and Mike. M&C flew to Edinburgh, and we drove to Dunkeld from there. Kath wasn't invited.

A dark walk to the restaurant on the first night with the world's most ineffective torch. Hotel on the second night for dinner, where we discovered it was dog friendly. This was a few days before Marley and Daisy arrived, so the last weekend without them.

Did a distillery tour on the Saturday (?)

Random memory - Martin discussing how he'd never seen a red squirrel in the wild, and one promptly appeared at the window behind him.

Lunch in the village, then a shorter walk in the afternoon. Random memory - tasting each other's drinks when we were being advised to maintain social distancing.

Patterdale 2

Martin, Claire, Ali, Emma, John, Kath, Adrian. Mike, Elaine, Marley and Daisy turned up on Saturday morning. 6-9th November 2015 I'm a bit vague on this one to be honest. I've no photos of this trip.  Saturday - walk to the pub at the campsite again. Sunday, a stupidly wet walk from Castlerigg stone circle, which included 15 minutes standing in a field while Ali worked out which way we were supposed to go. Random memory - Rocks being washed down the road by the rain.

Thornton Rust

Martin, Claire, Ali, Emma, John, Adrian, Mike, Elaine, Marley and Daisy. Kath invited, but was double booked.  9-11th December 2017 Pinehurst Cottage, Thornton Russet The walk where Marley had a fit, not finding stepping stones, finding a weird pub, and not finding dinner on the Sunday (ended up going back to the place we'd had lunch).  Random memory - about a week later, we had a call from someone that had found Daisy's ID disk from the lane opposite the cottage
